Frozen Watermelon Margaritas
Ingredients
2 cups of watermelon, cubes
1 cup ice cubes
1/2 cup silver tequila
1/4 cup triple sec or cointreau
1/4 cup lime juice (2 limes)
1 tbsp agave syrup
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tbsp pink Himalayan salt
Preparation
Step 1:
Cut watermelon in half and remove the rind. Cut into cubes and lay flat on a non-stick baking tray. If using a regular baking tray put parchment paper so that the cubes don't stick to the tray. Freeze for a minimum of 2 hours.
Step 2:
Dip glasses in water and place in freezer. This will give you a frosted effect. Do this at the same time when freezing watermelon.
Step 3:
Mix pink Himalayan salt and granulated sugar on a small plate. When you're ready to make your drinks take out glasses and rub the rim with a lime wedge. Dip glass in salt/sugar mix at a 45-degree angle and turn gently. Put glasses back in the freezer.
Step 4:
Put frozen watermelon cubes, ice cubes, tequila, triple sec, lime juice and agave syrup in a blender or food processor and blend on high speed. Take out glasses from freezer and fill 3/4 of the way. Garnish with lime slices. CHEERS!
NOTE: If you wish to make these alcohol free you can replace the booze with 1 cup of orange or pineapple juice.
